The Parking Lot Picker’s Songbook Bass edition
by Dix Bruce

The Parking Lot Picker’s Songbook, Bass Edition by Dix Bruce contains over 215 great Bluegrass, Old Time, Country, and Gospel standards. The set includes downloadable recordings of EVERY song and EVERY bass part from the 300 page plus book. Melodies and bass lines are presented in standard notation along with lyrics and chords. (See sample pages and table of contents below.) Book is spiral bound to lay flat at jam and practice sessions.

Learn to play songs written and recorded by the giants of traditional American music: Bill Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, Flatt & Scruggs, Ralph Stanley, The Osborne Brothers, Jimmy Martin, Doc Watson, and many more. Also included: Step-by-step instruction on how to compose bass lines and how to transpose any song to any key!

Dix's commentary on playing the songs will be invaluable to any bass player interested in bluegrass, old time, and gospel music. Dix plays the bass parts on the accompanying recordings along with guitar, mandolin, and vocals. Bill Evans is heard on banjo and vocals.

With the publication of The Parking Lot Picker’s Songbook, Bass Edition we now have six separate editions for every instrument in the classic bluegrass ensemble! EVERY member of the band, banjo, mandolin, guitar, fiddle, dobro, and now bass, can have their own copy of the book, with the same songs, in the same key, follow along and have a jam session. See our special "Picking Pals" offers below.

What are you waiting for? Let's make some music right now! Order your copy of The Parking Lot Picker's Songbook Bass Edition!

Also available now: The Parking Lot Picker's Songbook for Guitar, The Parking Lot Picker's Songbook for Banjo, The Parking Lot Picker's Songbook for Dobro, The Parking Lot Picker's Songbook for Fiddle, and The Parking Lot Picker's Songbook for Mandolin.

A note on the recordings that accompany the songbooks: Our main publisher, Mel Bay Publications, has decided to stop including CDs with their instructional books. As long as our supplies last we'll continue to sell books with CDs. We also hope to be able to provide CDs in the future to those of you who prefer them to downloads. (This will not affect the book/CD sets that Musix publishes, like "Gypsy Swing and Hot Club Rhythm," which will continue to be sold with a CD included.))

I just picked up the bass edition of the Parking Lot Picker's Songbook. Thanks SO much for this. I'm a reasonably capable guitar and mandolin player, but I haven't been able to coach my 12-year old son on how to play these tunes with me. Now, he can easily play along, sounding great. We are having a bunch of fun.

Again, thanks!
