I’m a long time customer of MusixNow and I would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank You” for providing such wonderful educational products. I own just about every mandolin book/cd set that you publish and I have just ordered the “Parking Lot Picker’s Songbook” in the mando and guitar package.
 
While I like all of your books and cd’s, my favorites are “Great Mandolin Pickin’ Tunes” and “Getting into Bluegrass Mandolin”. The little “Pickin’ Tunes” book is truly a gem of eclectic songs played at tempos that are easy to work up to and fun to play along with. I hope you are working on a sequel. One of the things I truly love about the mandolin is its universality in cultures throughout the world. Include some Brazilian and Greek tunes in the next book…Thanks again and looking forward to receiving the “Parking Lot” books, I’m giving the guitar version to my nephew.

I have been playing the guitar for about 3 years and have taken up the mandolin too for about 6 months. I have two of your books on the mandolin and simply think they are the best books I have gotten on instrument playing. I like your selection of songs and you have inspired me to learn to read standard notation as well as tabs. You have a real gift for teaching and encouragement. Keep the good work up. I recently bought the Parking Lot Pickers Songbook and have really enjoyed it. Great job!  You inspired me in to learn to read standard notation earlier and I plan to get the ear training books next. I have no real talent, just a desire to be in Gods angel band one day...

Dear Dix--
I wanted to send you a note of thanks. In January, I turned 44, and I bought myself a mandolin, as well as your book First Lessons: Mandolin. The thing is, I'm a huge fan of heavy metal and hard rock, but I have always had a special place in my heart for old folk/country/bluegrass. Grisman, Sam Bush, and (of course) Bill Monroe are gods to me.

So, now that I'm playing mandolin, I've sold the electric guitar. And, thanks to you, I'm actually making sounds that aren't offensive to friends and neighbors!

Thanks for starting me on this musical pathway.

After struggling for about a year with it, I picked up your book and then the Parking Lot Pickers Book. This has been a tremendous help and I have advanced pretty quickly using these tools.
